Our Award-Winning Team

MEET OUR PARTNERS,

Dale Collins &
Courtney Castledine

Since 2013, we have been working closely as a mother-daughter team.

We have a unique insight into the challenges and triumphs of being a family business, and can lend our expertise in a variety of areas. Whether it be balancing the business/family relationship, navigating succession planning, or strategizing tax-efficient corporate investment planning, we have the experience!

We are a multi-generational family business; our clients can be confident that their financial plans will not be interrupted by changes to their planning team. We have been working together for over a decade, ensuring that every client has had the chance to work closely with both Dale and Courtney, who are both Certified Financial Planners.

FOUNDING PARTNER | CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, ELDER PLANNING COUNSELOR

  • Where it all began?
In 1996, I began my journey in the Financial Services Industry at Pacific Coast Savings Credit Union. Balancing a full-time job while raising two young daughters, I pursued my studies in the evenings and earned my Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in December 2004. After over a decade with Coast Capital Savings, I decided to carve my own path by launching Prosperity Planning in late 2005. Since then, I’ve also earned my Elder Planning Counselor certification, further enhancing my expertise.

    What lights my fire?
Throughout my two-decade career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse individuals across various circumstances. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is Estate Planning. I’ve seen firsthand the profound impact a well-crafted estate plan can have, from addressing complex family dynamics to minimizing taxes and probate fees, facilitating charitable giving, and easing the burdens on executors. My goal is to ensure my clients’ wishes are honoured.

I also take great satisfaction in supporting business owners. Having navigated the challenges of running a family business myself, I offer insights on utilizing and maximizing the Capital Dividend Account (CDA), as well as strategies involving holding companies and family trusts, retirement planning, and succession planning. I ensure our corporate clients have access to a dedicated team for comprehensive financial planning, collaborating seamlessly with their trusted professionals.

Some things you may not know about me:

    • I have four energetic grandsons!

    • I hiked 10km on the Great Wall of China—definitely a bucket list experience!

    • I once waterskied behind a dragon boat.

    • I recently completed the West Coast Trail- another bucket list experience!

PARTNER | CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, CERTIFIED HEALTH INSURANCE SPECIALIST

  • Where it all began?
I joined Prosperity Planning in 2013, ready to settle in the Westshore after living abroad in both China and England. In 2016, I earned my life insurance and mutual fund licenses, and I haven’t looked back since. Growing up, I witnessed the profound impact my mother, Dale, had on her clients’ lives, and I am dedicated to continuing that legacy. In 2018, I received my Certified Health Insurance Specialist designation, and I proudly obtained my Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2023.

    What lights my fire?
I am passionate about educating our clients, ensuring they understand their financial plans and how these align with their goals. I believe that clear, open communication is essential for keeping everyone engaged throughout the financial planning process and beyond.

Working with families is particularly rewarding for me. As a mother of two young sons, I understand the competing priorities families face regarding their financial futures. I love helping families navigate life’s milestones and challenges, providing guidance and support every step of the way.

Additionally, I am committed to helping our clients incorporate charitable giving into their financial plans. Our firm supports numerous charities and organizations within the community, and we take joy in assisting our clients in making a positive impact. Dale is considered a Hospice Hero, and I highly recommend asking her about that!

Some things you may not know about me:

    • I taught English abroad in Beijing, China, when I was 18 years old.

    • I spent my honeymoon exploring Tanzania with my husband and his parents (they were married there!).

    • I’ve completed two half marathons and hope to run a full marathon one day.

    How my friends describe me:
Courtney is organized and detail-oriented, always ensuring those around her are well taken care of. She is bubbly and outgoing, never hesitating to take on new challenges—even if that means jumping on her bike for a 100km charity ride without training!

    How my clients describe me:
Clients describe me as professional, knowledgeable, and warm. I communicate clearly, ensuring they never leave feeling confused about their next steps. I take the time to listen and understand their goals and dreams, helping them feel more confident about their financial future.
